The purpose of this article is to outline what is required when creating an Organisation in Serendata and how to create an Organisation

Creating an Organisation

An Organisation is the Client (You). An organisation in Serendata represents the business that is using Serendata to deliver a Change Management Project or Initiative. The Organisation is the foundation on which everything else in built therefore this is a crucial step.

It is essential to be aware that Sysdoc will create the Organisation. This guide is for information should you be required to independently create the Organisation.

This is the first step when setting up Serendata. In this phase, you are required to:

  • Stipulate who the Client is

  • Input the Account Lead at Sysdoc that will be supporting you as a Client

  • Provide an Overview of what the Client does

  • Input all Users that will be using Serendata

  • For each User, their name, email address, system permission and system status needs to be inputted

Creating an Organisation

Click in the bottom left-hand corner of the Home Screen.

Note: The Cog displays all sections that need to be completed in order.

Select Organisation Settings.

There are 2 tabs within Organisation Settings: Organisation and Users. Organisation requires information on who the client is and what they do. The Users tab requires information on who will be using and has access to Serendata and the data within the system.

Enter the Client name in the Name* field.

Enter the Email Address of the Sysdoc Account Lead for your account in the Insight Account Owner*.

Enter an overview of the Organisation in the Overview field.

Note: This is a free text field. Enter all information as required.

A new panel opens on the right-hand side of the screen.

Enter the Email Address of the User in the Email address* field.

Note: This action performs a background search on the User.

Enter the Users Forename in the First name* field.

Enter the Users Surname in the Last name* field.

Apply the user’s system permission level from the Permission level* dropdown menu.

There are a 3 permission levels that can be applied to a system user. Those being:

  • Owner – An owner has access to the entire system and can apply permission levels for other users.

  • Contributor – A Contributor can make updates and changes to projects that they are assigned to.

  • Reader – A Reader has read access only to Serendata – no changes / updates can be made

Repeat the process on the User tab until all Serendata Users have been entered.
