Business Areas are functional business areas within your Organisation. For Example: Finance and Administration, Marketing and Sales and Learning. There are pre-existing Business Areas that have been set up in Serendata but they can be fully edited to reflect your Organisation. Each Business Area can be expanded out to have Sub Business Areas.

Search for an existing Business Area
Create a new Business Area

Searching for a Business Area
Step | Action |
1 | Click Note: The Cog displays all sections that need to be completed in order. |
2 | Select Core Data. |
3 | Select Business Areas from the Sub Menu. |
If there is a long list of pre-existing Business Areas, it is possible to perform a search to locate the required Business Area.

4 | Click in the Search field. |
5 | Type the Business Area you require. For Example: Finance. As you partially type, Serendata will highlight all Business and Sub Business Area relating to your search in Blue. The more you input, the more refined the search results will be. |
Add a New Business Area
To add a new Business Area in Serendata:

This activates a new Business Area field at the bottom of the list. This field will have a bright blue line around it.

1 | Enter the Name of the Business Area. |

The new Business Area will appear as the last option within the tree.
Add a New Sub Business Area
To add to a sub process into an existing Business Area:

1 | Click Note: This will display a new Business Area Input field. |
2 | Enter the title for the new Sub Business Area. |

The new Sub Business Area will appear as the last option within the tree.
