Set up your Core Data

Use this article to access Core Data and manage the organisation-level reference data used across your Serendata projects and programmes.

Access Core Data

Core Data is managed from your organisation Settings and provides a central place for reference data used across Serendata.

To access Core Data, open Settings from the left-hand sidebar.

Within Settings, open Core Data to view the available organisation-level data areas.

Manage Core Data

Each Core Data area has its own management page. Across these pages, use the teal + button to create a new record.

Action Types

Action Types help you categorise actions consistently across your organisation. For more information about actions, see 'Plan and track your Actions'.

Business Areas

Business Areas represent parts of the organisation affected by change. In Serendata, they help organise business roles and people that are relevant to projects and programmes.

Impact Types

Impact Types help you categorise impacts consistently across your organisation. For more information about impacts, see 'Log the Impacts of your change'.

Labels

Labels provide flexible tags for information across Serendata, helping you capture categories that are not covered by the standard data sets.

People

People is where you maintain the people records relevant to your organisation and its change activity. This can include stakeholders, SMEs and audience members. For more information, see 'Map your Stakeholders and Audiences' and 'Diagnostics and Readiness'.

Upload and manage people records held in Core Data.

Places

Places and Place Groups represent specific locations or wider areas. For example, London can be a Place and the United Kingdom a Place Group. Places can be geotagged to locations available in Google Maps and linked wherever a Place field is available in Serendata.

Processes

Processes relevant to your projects and programmes must first be held in Core Data before they can be attached to a project. You can create them individually or upload them in bulk using the Serendata uploader. For more information, see 'Upload and Manage your Processes' and 'Uploading Spreadsheet data to Serendata'.

Process Roles

Process Roles relevant to projects and programmes must also be held in Core Data before they can be used alongside processes. For more information, see 'Upload and Manage your Processes'.

Training Types

Training Types help group courses, modules and components created in the Serendata Learning section. For more information, see 'Create a Learning Curriculum'.

Training Progress

Roles

Business Roles describe who does what within an organisation experiencing change. They can be mapped to processes and grouped into audiences through People data, among other uses. For more information, see 'Upload and Manage your Processes', 'Map your Stakeholders and Audiences' and 'Diagnostics and Readiness'.
